There might be several reasons why your computer is not performing well, some major things that can be the cause of slow performance of your computer are disk errors,
huge collection of temporary files, registry errors, non-optimized disks, internet explorer issues, windows/software update, bad files, corrupted files and software, computer overheating, not compatible hardware, malware and spyware and issues in configuration of systems/application software.
Now, here are some tips on how you can overcome these issues and make your computer run faster...
Step 1. - Reboot your PC to make the recent software installations/un-installation/configuration changes completely effective.
Step 2. - Check the free space on your hard disk partition where the windows is installed and be sure to have at least 500MB to 700MB free space. In case, you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, be sure to have at least 2GB of free space in your OS installation hard disk, typically C drive. This free space allows the operating system to store the swap files and temporary windows/software usage data. How to: My Computer > Local Disc (C) > Right Click > Properties >
Step 3. - Check if your hard disk is well De-fragmented, if not, do it now.
Right Click My Computer Icon on Desktop > Manage > Disk Defragmenter > Analyse > Defragment
Step 4. - Check hard disk for errors by going to disk drive Properties > Tools > Check Now Check both the options there and then click start, see image below,
After all the above hard disk checking and fixing have been completed, there is no reason your computer will not run faster, you will definitely feel that computer is now working smoothly and faster.
Step 5. - Remove temporary files and registry errors from your PC, to remove the temporary files, first please close all the running programs then go to Start > Run and type %temp% and hit enter. Now Sift+Delete all the files from this folder.
An easy way to do this is to download and install the Ccleaner software, this software will remove the temporary files, log files, registry errors and you can control all the unnecessary windows start-up programs.

ReplyDeletedo you use P2P (Peer to Peer) file sharing programs? If so then try turning the file sharing program off, as file sharing programs use up alot of bandwidth some broadband providers limit the speed you can use the internet if you are using file sharing programs.
ReplyDeleteIf you turn off the file sharing program your broadband speed goes back to normal .
I faced the same problem ,after doing this i checked my speed from ScanMySpeed.com apparently my internet speed is faster than before.
If these doesn't apply ,there is a chance you may have a virus on your computer. A computer virus is likely to not just slow your broadband and Internet down but your computer too.
If you find that not only is your broadband running slower but you notice that your computer is a bit more sluggish or notice that you have corrupt files or programs are not opening then you may well have a virus.Try to overcome this, your internet speed ll automatically rise up.
